Scooters, skateboards, and skates give children active ways to practice balance, coordination, steering, speed control, and outdoor confidence. They are usually used on smooth, open surfaces such as sidewalks, parks, driveways, skate areas, and safe play spaces.
This group includes kick scooters, three-wheel scooters, skateboards, roller skates, and inline skates. They work well for children who enjoy movement, outdoor riding, learning new physical skills, and active play that feels exciting but still needs clear safety rules.
Always follow the age, height, and weight guidance from the manufacturer. Use a properly fitted helmet and protective gear such as knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. Keep children away from roads, cars, stairs, steep hills, wet surfaces, and crowded areas. Adult supervision is important, especially for beginners.
Typically 2+ years for many three-wheel scooters, 5+ years for simple skateboards and roller skates, and 6+ years for inline skates, depending on balance, protective gear, surface, and manufacturer guidance.
